Disney Feature Animation
As most people know I recently started working at Disney Feature Animation as a lighter on their 52nd animated film, Wreck-It Ralph. I put off & put off writing something on my blog about it because I wasn't quite sure where to start.
I grew up frame-by-framing my VHS of The Lion King to learn to draw Simba & Mufasa. (Have you ever /tried/ to frame-by-frame a VHS?! It's a pain.. especially because our VHS would turn off after awhile if you left it paused.) I had Ariel & Jasmine tshirts, toys, stuffed animals. I knew every single line to The Lion King.
Every. Single. Word.
(I still may.. I plead the fifth.)
Being here working at Disney has been a dream come true- not just because the studio has such a brilliant rich history; Not just because I've wanted to be a 'Disney animator when I grow up' since first grade; Not just because the lot & studios are amazing (How can you dread going to work in the morning when your office is wearing a giant sorcerer's cap?); But because everyone I work with is so incredibly talented and passionate about what they do. Everyone is so excited to be here, to work on this film, and to be a part of this team.
Wreck-It Ralph comes out on November 2nd, and I can't wait to share it with all of you.
Here is the first official trailer that debuted at E3 this morning:
